Otterbein College Theatre Presents "You Can't Take it With You" Opening night performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by a reception. The Sunday matinee on Feb. 7 begins at 2 p.m. All other performances begin at 8 p.m. Otterbein College theatre warms up the winter with a production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedic play You Can’t Take It with You, which runs Feb. 4-7 and 11-13 in The Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. 10th Annual Westerville Community Bowl-a-Thon 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Columbus Bowling Palace, 5707 Forest Hills Blvd. This annual event raises money for the Westerville Education Foundation, the Chamber Foundation and the Westerville Symphony. Executives may enjoy a luncheon at 11 a.m. before an executives-only bowl at 11:30 a.m. Community teams will bowl at noon and 2 p.m., and raffles and door prizes will be given away. Register teams of four or five bowlers by Feb. 1. Cost is $10 per person, which includes bowling, shoe rental and a T-shirt. 614-882-8917

4 Annual Empty Bowls Dinner, 6-8pm, Walnut Springs Middle School Cafeteria, 888 E. Walnut St. Money from the sale of tickets will be donated to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) to help feed needy families in the Westerville area. They will also be available at the door. The price of each ticket includes your choice of homemade soup, plus a roll, cookie, and beverage. Guests will be entertained by musicians from Walnut Springs and will be given a one-of-a-kind handcrafted bowl made by students. In addition, a raffle will be held to benefit WARM. Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased in advance by contacting Melissa Roundhouse at 797-6700.

6 Carnival of Hope, 6-9pm, Westerville Community Center, 350 N. Cleveland Ave. The family-friendly event is open to the public. Featuring various activities including a basketball shoot-out competition, face painting, carnival games, rock climbing, a silent auction and a dinner buffet. The cost is $5 per person at the door; children age four and under are free. All proceeds from the event will benefit Church World Services’ Haiti relief fund.
 
7 RaceX8 Relay and Change Drive, 7pm, Frank and Vida Clements Recreational and Fitness Center, 180 Center Street. The “RaceX8” relay competition is being hosted by Otterbein PRSSA and Communication 415 to promote and raise awareness for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank’s current campaign, USx8 (www.usx8.org). This race will consist of eight different stations including jump rope, hula hoop, carrying cans and packing food boxes. Each teammate will take a turn going through the course while holding two cans of food. As they finish the course they will pass the cans to the next teammate to take their turn through the course. The race will be timed.  A change drive will also take place at the event. Teams as well as supporting students, faculty and staff can donate their loose change to support the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. On Memorial Day Weekend a spectacular visual display of over 1,750 American Flags will be displayed across from the Westerville Community Center on Cleveland Avenue in Westerville, Ohio. These 3' x 5' flags will stand 8 feet tall in perfect rows and columns across a field of green. The Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise Field of Heroes is being held to honor our personal heroes - whoever they are to you... a family member, a friend, a veteran, a member of the armed services, your favorite teacher, a policeman or fireman.
